Peep Skip Day, 2014

On the message board I'm on, someone made a mention of senior skip days, and it turned into a discussion about wouldn't it be fun to have a skip day for crafting? Before anyone knew it there was a poll for dates and it turned from a day to a 4 day thing complete with prizes, Bingo and lots of fun. I love the message board I'm on :)  There were 16 challenges and I managed to complete them all, and it has totally rejuvenated me for scrapping; I feel creative for the first time in a long time.

Challenge #1
Christmas card tutorial

Challenge #2
Mad Dash, complete a layout in under 45 minutes

Challenge #3
Embossing and Embellishments, either use an embossing folder or make your own embellishments and use them on a layout. I made stacked label embellishments.

Challenge #4
sticker sneeze, create a layout where stickers are the main focus or organize your stickers.
I organized my stickers (upcoming Workspace Wednesday post).

Challenge #5
Make your own kit club kit
I started out with these two cut apart sheets from Echo Park Happy Go Lucky, the only two pieces I have from that line:
I love bright colors, so I was looking forward to seeing what I could pull from my stash. I started with pattern paper:
then added in several alphabet options:
followed by embellishments:

Can't wait to play with it!

Challenge #6
Fall layout challenge

Challenge #7
Let's go to the Border--use a sheet of border sections cut apart to create your layout

Challenge #8
27 fling boogie...pull a Fly Lady cleaning spree and clean up 27 things in your space or clean for 27 minutes. I completed this several times, lol.

Challenge #9
Die Cut Dodgeball, make die cuts your focus

Challenge #10
the challenge of challenge. A list of 52 challenges from a book, and this was the only challenge where layouts from the other PSD challenges could be used. I submitted 3.

Challenge #11
Peep recipe. Create a layout with a brown background, uses at least 3 circular elements, gold and some twine/string/ribbon.

Challenge #12
stencil challenge, use a stencil or mask.

Challenge #13
the 12 days of Christmas, create a Christmas themed layout with at least 12 items on it.

Challenge #14
random recipe challenge, when you signed up you were given a list of 4 things chosen by random.org.  I got fall theme, camera/geotag/arrow, frame your photos, and multiple fonts.

Challenge #15
peep skip day sketch. I actually used this for #3, as well.

Challenge #16
lots of dots! Use at least 15 enamel dots on a page.
I originally started this page for die cut dodgeball (#9) but realized I had enough dots on it to qualify for this one, so used it for this and made another one for DCDB since I still had my machine and dies out.

2014 in 2014: between working on 13 or so weeks of PL and this, I got my total up to the 1700+ range but forget to write down the exact number before updating it. Oops.

50 Week Layout Challenge, weeks 1-5 and 2014 in 2014

I am really, really behind on posting things, partly because I haven't done a whole lot of scrapping lately :(
----------
A couple of the layouts from the Tennessee album I worked on during our crop in November still need journaling, but I think I'm going to photograph and post them anyway.

------------
PL 2013--I'm behind. I still kept taking pictures and writing everything down, but otherwise, until the January crop I hadn't worked on it since August. I have a few layouts mostly done, but I really need to make myself work on it.

------------------

PL2014--I wasn't even sure I was going to do it again this year, but I stumbled on a Youtube video that showed what is turning out to be a pretty easy way to stay caught up with it. I am current on photo printing and journaling through last week.

================================

2014 in 2014--one of the challenges on the message board is to use 2014 things in 2014. At first it sounds hard, but then you consider that you count everything. How I'm choosing to count:

1 point for each piece of pattern paper
1 point for each embellishment (i.e. 5 enamel dots = 5 points)
1 point for each alpha type (one alpha sticker set = 1 point, 2 sets =2 points, etc.)
1 point for each Silhouette cut
1 point for each stamp set
1 point for each punch
1 point for each sketch
etc

What I'm not counting
cardstock
paper scraps

new product does not count against me and purging/selling items does not help me

=================================
50 week layout challenge

Several of us kicked in $15 each to join the challenge of creating a layout every week for 50 weeks. There is over $600 up for grabs last time I paid attention, plus weekly prizes (which I've already won one of). Each person gets up to 5 "passes" where you can delay posting your layout for a week if you are out of town or ill or whatever. So far I haven't used any.

Week #1
This is the only layout I've done so far from my last Studio Calico kit. I jus can't get excited to use kits right now. (11 points)

Week #2
Our Greek Festival adventure. The little dancing guys on the bottom of the right page are cut from two copies of wallet photos. (18 points)

Week #3
Still not entirely pleased with how this one turned out. (16 points)

Week #4
I bought this Carta Bella paper kit at Hobby Lobby just to use with these pictures. (21 points)

Week #5
Pretty pleased with this one. (20 points). Home is cut from the Silhouette using the free Pacifico font.

2014 in 2014 total: 250/2014 (includes some PL spreads I've been working on)

playing with pretty paper, part 5

This DCWV stack was also somewhat of an impulse buy, but I loved several of the patterns. The downside was that I knew going in that I was going to automatically put about half the pad in the giveaway pile.
What I ended up with I am pretty happy with.

 My favorite :)
And the cards:

Not sure what sentiments I want to stamp on here, so blank for now.

Total:
11 double 8.5x11 layouts
1 single 8.5x11 layout
7 cards

Even with letting half the pad go right away, I still think it was worth the $12.99.
